URC Thailand, a subsidiary of Universal Robina Corp., has recently received two prestigious awards in recognition of its excellence in producing quality food products in Thailand. The company was honored with FDA Quality awards from the Ministry of Public Health for meeting all required standards, including product quality and environmentally-friendly product-packaging-process under its sustainability project, UR Green.
This is not the first time that URC Thailand has been recognized for its achievements in the food industry. The company was again named as an “Outstanding Food Manufacturer”, a title it first received in 2020. In addition, its Dewberry Puff Cake Orange was recognized as an “Outstanding Food Product on the major use of local raw materials”.
URC Thailand was commended for its quality inspection and assurance program, compliance with food safety regulations, and its corporate social responsibility and sustainability program. Dewberry Puff Cake Orange, in particular, was highlighted for sourcing 90% of its ingredients domestically.
According to Tanant Suwanraks, URC’s Vice President and General Manager for Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, the company is proud to contribute to the Thai economy by creating jobs for the local people and opening opportunities for small businesses.
Since 1992, URC Thailand has been producing some of Thailand’s top snack brands under the Jack ‘n Jill megabrand, including Roller Coaster, Dewberry, Fun-O, Tivoli, Cream-O, Lausanne, Dynamite and Lush. The company has been consistently recognized in Thailand for its quality products, work environment, and dedication towards sustainability and clean energy.
During the awarding ceremony, the Minister of Public Health and Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, presented the Outstanding Healthy-Food Product Manufacturer (General Category) award to Wattawut Ueaphumirat, URC Thailand’s representative for Supply Chain and Manufacturing Director.
