The Rapoo C500 boasts a 4K resolution @30fps autofocus camera and features an incredibly 80° wide-angle viewing angle. In addition to having a built-in omnidirectional microphone that amplifies your speech even further, it also features a privacy cover that you can use to cover the camera when not in use. A 1.5m USB Type C cable that comes with the device is used to connect to it. UNBOXING
The packaging is quite big, considering the size of the webcam. At the back of the box, we will see the 4 main features of the webcam which are the: 4K resolution, Privacy cover, Omnidirectional microphone, and Plug-and-play feature.
Inside the box, you will see the Manual, 1.5m USB Type C cable, and the Rapoo C500.
DESIGN
Given that it has a 4K resolution, it is not surprising that the lens is fairly large. The webcam is long in terms of width to accommodate the 2 built-in microphones. The USB Type C connector is located at the back, and the logo branding is visible beneath the lens. The fact that it contains a 1/4 tripod mount for attaching the webcam to a tripod surprises me. Aside from the adjustable base clip, the camera itself can be bent forward and backward.
AUDIO AND VIDEO QUALITY
I’m really surprised with this webcam because “4K webcam in a budget” is too good to be true, but Rapoo did not fail us with this one! The videos were crystal clear, giving the impression that they were shot on a smartphone. In the video, even the slightest detail is visible—I’m in awe! I noticed that despite the webcam’s claims to have auto-focus, it doesn’t seem to have it, it’s only fixed focus. But it is not the problem, as the lens is properly focused on the screen. In contrast to the claimed 30fps, the video options only allow you to shoot in 4K, 1080p, 720p, and other resolutions at 25fps. The audio quality is also superb, it can hear my voice even though it is at a modest volume. Make sure to remove the plastic film for the best outcome because I didn’t remove it on the sample image, which makes it appear hazy or blurry in some points.
VERDICT
This webcam is impressive in all aspects. Compared to other 4K webcams which may cost up to twice as much, this one is a great offer at ₱3,895. This is highly recommended for gamers and users who do live streaming in social media sites, and for people who always use video conferencing apps for work and online classes such as employees, teachers, and students.
