One of Southeast Asia’s biggest mixed and ladies esports tournaments, UniPin Southeast Asia Cyber Arena (SEACA) is coming again this November. After a hiatus last year, UniPin SEACA 2021 is back to present a series of tournaments and activities. The UniPin SEACA 2021 series of events will start from November 12th to 21st, 2021 with a total prize pool of USD46,000 or PHP2,290,000.
UniPin SEACA MAJOR 2021 will be the highlight of UniPin SEACA 2021, as it will be a final stage for 32 qualified esports teams from all over SEA to compete. With 16 teams for each open and ladies tournament category, the team finalists represent their home countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, and the Philippines which will be represented by DGG Blitz and MYM Deimos.
The Ladies Series SEA Invitational will also debut and be a part of the UniPin SEACA 2021. After being previously established for Indonesia only, Moonton’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament finally expanded to the SEA level. With the qualifier stages held from August to October, there are 10 teams from 6 countries that will compete to win the first season of the Ladies Series SEA Invitational. Some renowned teams from Indonesia are Belletron Era, Evos Lynx, RRQ Mika, and GPX Ladies. Meanwhile, The Philippines will be represented by LVD Huntress and Arkangel FE.
Debora Imanuella, Senior Vice President of UniPin Community mentioned the esports community‘s high interest in ladies’ series and esports influences this year’s UniPin SEACA’s set of events, “We want to combine the spirit of competition from the tournaments with the spirit of developing the esports ecosystems as a whole. That is why we prepared the ladies tournaments, one of the obstacles that the female esports players must face today is the lack of confidence. They often doubted their ability to compete with their male counterpart on the same level. This competition is established to support them in growing that confidence and show the world that they too are able to compete at the highest level. That being said, we also hopefully aim to inspire future female esports athletes through this event,” she added.
Ashadi Ang, Head of Public Relations and Communications of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI), appreciates the consistency in organizing esports events at the international level, “SEACA’s presence as a sustainable and competitive professional tournament is a positive signal for the growth of healthy esports ecosystem. Hopefully, there will be more future esport athletes and leaders born from this event,” concluded Ashadi.
The rest of the UniPin SEACA 2021 series of events will also bring excitement for cosplay fans to follow, especially Genshin Impact fans. The SEA Cosplay Competition finals that will be held on November 20, 2021, offers the opportunity for cosplayers to showcase their skills in designing and wearing Genshin Impact character costumes.
