This photo and post is part of my Project 50/50: Starting today December 1 until December 14, 2012 11:59 p.m., I have to post these 50 quality photos to my blog under the menu Project 50/50.
PHOTO 8 – JEEP
As I commute to work, I take the Tandang Sora route from Commonwealth Avenue to Mindanao Avenue. This is the second time I rode this jeepney with the temporary plate signage of “Jeep” inside. I love taking photos with wordplay. Associating the “Jeep” sign with the jeepney was the intent of this photo. I used the arms of the passengers as a “frame” or border. The arms also enhances the inside the jeepney sense of place.
Inside the jeepney, it is difficult to shoot with a very narrow angle of view using the 50mm because with a cropped sensor camera like Canon 40D, the real focal length is around 80mm (x 1.6). I was already almost at the end of the seat near the rear exit and the angle is still too tight. Below is another photo I took before using my Sigma 18-50mm lens at 18mm. You can see the difference in the angle of view.
