The iconic Big Brother house has officially opened with a stunning production number on Sunday (December 6) with “PBB Connect” being among the top Twitter trends as Big Brother unveiled explosive revelations.
Big Brother surprised the 12 official housemates as he assigned them their first task right away to test their strength as a team. Since the housemates were able to complete the task, all of them were saved from being nominated.
But another announcement stunned the group as Big Brother announced that only nine (9) out of 12 housemates will be allowed inside the house. Big Brother revealed after the first task that three housemates have to stay in an isolation area in the garden. Declared heads of household Kyron Aguilera (Ang Shy Biker Boy ng Butuan) and Mika Pajares (Ang Single Momshie-Kap ng Bataan) decided Andrea Abaya, Crismar Menchavez, and Ella Cayabyab had to stay in the isolation area. Kyron and Mika were named heads since they got the most diamonds in Kumu via a live-stream before the kick-off.
Big Brother also dropped a major twist as he announced that for the first time in “PBB” history, the outside world has the power to decide who among the 117 aspiring housemates in Kumu will enter Big Brother’s house as additional housemates. Starting December 6, aspiring housemates will do livestreams on Kumu. The aspiring housemates who will get the most virtual gifts from the Kumunity will proceed to the next round until only three (3) will remain. The remaining three (3) aspiring housemates will then be named official housemates.
Meanwhile, for the Kumunity to stay connected on “PBB Connect,” “PBB” and Kumu will be offering a 24/7 livestream on the app, as well as a four-camera setup. This means that viewers have the choice to pick a camera to see what’s happening inside the house anytime. Voting will also happen via Kumu.
Before the housemates entered the famous yellow house, the hosts gave a tour of the new look of Big Brother’s house. They were instructed by Big Brother to disinfect the house as part of the health and safety protocols of the show. The hosts, housemates, and production staff all had to undergo RT-PCR swab testing to ensure their safety.
This year’s “PBB” kick-off may have been different minus the live audience that welcomes new housemates, but the kick-off was still brimming with fun because of the grand opening dance number headlined by Kim, Maymay, MNL48, SHA Boys, and BINI. This led the hashtag #PBBConnectXmasSalubong to emerge as one of the Twitter trends last night.
