As it was for most, 2020 was an unprecedented year for leading global technology company vivo insofar as jampacked physical events and huge-venue product launches are concerned.
It has been a challenge to mount buzz-worthy events with the community quarantine restrictions but vivo seems to have made a seamless transition towards digital, as evidenced by its slew of launches, online activities, and the top-spot Canalys ranking awarded recently.
Ignite your night: vivo V19 series
The first smartphone that vivo launched for the year was the V19 series, which boasts of superb night photography features. With this feature as the main thrust and since the smartphone was released during the height of the lockdown when morale and motivation were low, for the V19 series campaign, vivo called on millennials to ignite their night, and continue to explore passions despite being stuck at home.
Besides the enticing features of the V19 series, vivo sparked this “movement” by launching a series of livestreams dedicated to help millennials take back their nights.
Famed photographers MJ Magallon and Xander Angeles also invited vivo V19 users to try out night photography by showcasing their magnificent night portraits taken with the smartphone on social media.
Photography redefined: X50 series
When vivo launched their X50 series which is equipped with industry-leading gimbal technology that allows for ultra-clear and masterful photos, the company also invited millennials to become masters of their own craft and passions.
For this campaign, vivo teamed up with renowned artists to share and demonstrate how they became masters in their own right. Photographer MJ Magallon held an astrophotography workshop using his vivo X50 Pro, while leading man Khalil Ramos and leading lady Rhian Ramos shared their stories to accompany professional-grade photos they took using the vivo X50 Pro.
Be the Focus: V20 series
For their final launch this year, vivo introduced the vivo V20 series which sported an industry-leading 44MP dual selfie camera with an industry-first eye autofocus technology.
It featured fashionista Verniece Enciso, creative explorer Marvin Fojas, viral sensation Dora Dorado, tech blogger Isadoestech, famed gamer JunnieBoy, and phenomenal star Maine Mendoza who not only put the vivo V20 Pro’s eye autofocus technology to the test but illustrated how they managed to stand out in a crowded digital world filled with content.
The vivo V20 series along with its campaign, “Be the Focus” sought to enable V20 users to unleash their creativity and learn how to grab the spotlight online.
More than standing out, however, vivo also utilized this campaign to promote mental health tips and invite millennials to focus on themselves through a live-stream with mental health advocate Frankie Pangilinan was released on vivo’s Facebook page.
