Paano nga ba lumaban sa giyera nang hindi mo nakikita ang kalaban? Ano ang mga hirap na dinaranas ng mga nasa gitna ng panganib? Ito ang mga katanungan na bibigyang sagot ng napapanahong dokumentaryo ng ABS-CBN DocuCentral na “Heroes in the Hot Zone,” na ipapalabas sa Kapamilya Network ngayong Linggo (Abril 26) ng 9 pm.
Sa dokumentaryo, ibabahagi ni Raphael Bosano ang matinding epekto sa buhay ng mga Pilipino ng pagkalat ng sakit ng COVID-19 sa pamamagitan ng tatlong kwento ng mga doktor na saksi sa hirap ng laban sa mga ospital at matinding dusa ng mga pasyente dahil dito.
Dadalhin ng unang doktor ang manonood mula sa triage tent kung saan gingawa ang COVID-19 testing, hanggang sa kaguluhan sa emergency room, at nakapangingilabot na katahimikan sa mga kwarto kung saan mag-isang nilalabanan ng mga pasyente ang sakit.
Makikilala rin sa dokyu ang isang magiting na doktor na pumanaw dahil sa coronavirus, matapos niyang isakripisyo ang kanyang oras para sa pamilya at kalusugan para magbigay serbisyo sa mga Pilipino. Makakapanayam din ni Raphael ang isang doktor na gumaling mula sa sakit para mas maintindihan pa ng mga manonood ang sakit na COVID-19 at kung paano niya ito natalo.
Dahil sa COVID-19, tila nasa gitna ng digmaan ang buong mundo ngayon kung saan mga health worker ang nagsisilbing mga sundalo na taga-depensa ng tao sa kalaban. Sa bawat sabak nila sa panggagamot ay nalalagay din sa alanganin ang kanilang buhay, ngunit pinipili nilang lumaban para mas marami pang buhay ang mailigtas.
Ayon sa tala ng Department of Health (DOH), umabot na sa 700 na health workers ang nagkasakit dahil sa coronavirus. Ang masaklap pa rito, kasama sa mga namamatay ang mismong mga doktor at nars na nangangalaga sana sa may sakit.
