Of all the roles Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has portrayed: From being a singer, actress, record producer, & TV host , what she loves most is being a mom to Nate. The newest members of the the largest fastfood chain in the Philippines are Regine and her son Nate who stars in the tear jerker Jolly Spaghetti TV ad.
It is not the first time they have worked on an endorsement together. In the ad, it shows Regine performing in a concert while her son Nate accompanies her everywhere she goes. The day ends with a sweet surprise Spaghetti from Jollibee for her son.
From reel to real
Regine was touched. She appreciates the truth the commercial shows. In the ad, she says “Umiyak talaga ako. I said, “pinag-isipan talaga nila.” I’ve never done anything like this, a commercial that celebrates my being a career woman and a mom.“In the ad, there’s a line where I say “sa lahat ng kinantahan ko, ikaw lang ‘ang nakatulog.” That’s true talaga! He really sleeps whenever I sing to him. It’s like they captured our real lives!” she said.
A special part of the commercial is when Regine sang a part of a song composed by her hubby Ogie Alcasid. “Pangako magmula ngayon, tayong dalawa ang magkasama,” holds a promise that she cherishes. The song is one of her platinum hits “Pangako.”
Moments together made sweeter
Regine puts emphasis on her son’s 1st seven years and has dedicated time for it. In fact, she has chosen to be with Nate more often than focusing on her career. They bond together specially at night before going to sleep. “He would always say, “Mommy, last kwento,” but this last story would go on for 20 minutes! But honestly, that’s the highlight of my day. He really loves talking.” Regine states.
Nate likes it a lot when her mom plays toys with him. “We also play with toys but they’re not really toys, It’s called amenities!”
Regine realizes that what her son appreciates most is quality time and not gifts or material things. “He loves hotel supplies like toothbrushes,” Regine explains. “So one time when I was traveling, I brought everything back home to him. He was so happy, akala mo binigyan ko ng special gift.
Sweet-sarap Jolly Spaghetti makes bonding with her son Nate and husband Ogie Alcasid even more fun. “When it’s time for merienda, he would say “I want one Jolly Spaghetti, two Chickenjoy legs, and two fries.” When I’m not at home, he would ask to order Jollibee and pay for it with his own money! Hindi niya ako hihintayin!”
