“We wanted to give our customers more ways to enjoy life, so we ventured into staging entertainment productions that goes beyond the smartphone screen with the establishment of Globe LIVE and Globe Studios” shares Globe Chief Commercial Officer Albert de Larrazabal.
The company introduces the advocacy #PlayItRight to give importance to hard work and show the truth about how content piracy is affecting the entertainment industry specifically the livelihood of the men and women behind it. Globe will go behind the scenes to feature real life stories of the people behind the movies we watch, the shows we enjoy, and the entertainment we consume. This effort is aimed at encouraging viewers to stay away from piracy and patronize content from legitimate sources.
“Globe is all about creating experiences, and we are simply taking the experience further by going beyond the virtual and giving our customers the opportunity to experience entertainment wherever they are, whether in film, digital or in real life. We intend to elevate the quality of entertainment in the country. 2017 is a special year for Globe Telecom since it boasts of four musical productions starting with the adaptation of Disney’s Newsies that began on 7th of July, 2016 running on all weekends of July at the Globe ICONIC Store. Also, Globe will be co-producing international tours of West Side Story and Sound of Music which are award winning titles from August 10th to 27thand September 27th to October 15th respectively that will be both held at The Theater at Solaire. At the last month of 2017 is the restaging of Menken and Ahren’s A Christmas Carol.
Globe has ventured into their own video series and films through Globe Studios and has launched Globe Independent Film Festival which is the first-ever online film fest aiming to inspire local filmmakers and aspiring ones. In addition, Globe collaborated with HOOQ to bring ‘On the Job’ series, a spin-off from Erik Matti’s On The Job muti-awarded blockbuster.
All movie theaters will be screening only Filipino films during the Buwan ng Wika and #PlayItRight will be supporting the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, a nationwide week-long celebration which is organized by the Film Development Council of the Office of the President.
After bringing Madonna to the country in 2016 and Coldplay in 2017, fans will be thrilled as Globe brings top music acts The Chainsmokers and Harry Styles in May 2018.
