Last July 5, 2015, my daughter and I participated in the 8th Robinsons’ Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. This is my first time to join a run as big as this where thousands of pairs run as buddy. With my overweight body, a 5K run will definitely challenge me. I decided to join the run instead of just covering the event as a blogger.
Waking up 3 am was the first challenge. The race starts 5:30 am so we have to leave early since we are coming from Quezon City. Arrived just 15 minutes before the start, we got our race kits and went to the starting line to get some starting line video coverage.
The 10k started already but was in time for the 5K run which started 5:45 am.

It was not an impressive time of 1 hour 5 minutes but it was a great achievement for me because I finished my very first 5K run.
Some of the big names who participated were Nikko Hueigas (gold medalist at 28th SEA Games), Jake Letts (Philippine Volcanoes Captain) and celebrities James Reid and Jessy Mendiola.
Luckily I spotted James and Jessy near the media tent at the Century Tuna booth before they left the event.
There were great prizes for the winners of the run:
- 5K top pair gets trip for 2 to Coron, Palawan
- 10K top pair gets trip for 2 to Yangon, Myanmar
- 2nd to 5th places gets Robinsons Gift Certificates
