The bond between the Philippines and Hong Kong has flourished over the years, reaching a historic milestone last November. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) proudly welcomed its one-millionth Filipino visitor, a testament to the city’s enduring appeal and commitment to offering fresh, exciting experiences.

To commemorate this achievement, HKTB hosted a special celebratory dinner, “Juan in a Million,” bringing together key partners and collaborators for an unforgettable evening. Reflecting on this milestone, HKTB Executive Director Dane Cheng shared, “Thanks to the collective efforts of our partners, we are proud to announce that not only have we reached the historic milestone of welcoming one million Filipino visitors, but we have also surpassed previous records with an impressive 1.2 million arrivals from the Philippines in a single year. This is truly a remarkable achievement!”

Looking ahead to 2025, Cheng emphasized HKTB’s unwavering commitment to Filipino travelers, adding, “We remain dedicated to offering our visitors a million reasons to explore Hong Kong and bringing the city even closer to their hearts.”

2024 marked a year of remarkable achievements for Hong Kong, from record-breaking visitor numbers to innovative campaigns that deepened its connection with Filipino travelers.

Celebrity-led initiatives captivated audiences, including “Under Parallel Skies”, a film starring Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin, and “Be With U”, a romantic music video featuring KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad. Both projects beautifully showcased Hong Kong as a city of love and adventure.

Culinary collaborations also played a key role in fostering cultural ties. The Four Hands Dinner, featuring celebrated chefs Margarita Forés and Vicky Cheng, highlighted Hong Kong’s unique flavors while serving as a prelude to the highly anticipated Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival—a premier event celebrating the city’s rich gastronomic scene.

HKTB also brought Hong Kong’s hidden gems into the spotlight through the “Of Course, Hong Kong” video series, featuring the city’s must-visit destinations through the eyes of four Hong Kong-based Filipinos.

With world-class attractions, exciting new experiences, and a diverse lineup of cultural events, Hong Kong continues to solidify its reputation as Asia’s World City, ensuring that every Filipino traveler has a reason to return.
