The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) proudly announces the much-anticipated return of the CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival on February 1 and 2, 2025. Now in its 19th edition, the country’s largest multi-arts festival promises to be its most expansive yet, under the theme “CCP Pasinaya 2025 Open House Festival: Para sa Lahat!”
This year, CCP Pasinaya serves as the vibrant kick-off for the National Arts Month 2025, a month-long tribute to the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage and artistic achievements. Organized in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the festival aims to bring Filipino artistry closer to audiences of all backgrounds, celebrating the transformative power of the arts.
A Nationwide Celebration of the Arts
In a groundbreaking move, Pasinaya 2025 expands its reach to regional partner sites, fostering a deeper connection between art and community. New locations include Clark (Pampanga), Batangas Province, Himamaylan (Negros Occidental), and Sorsogon City (Bicol). Returning regional venues, Iloilo City and Tagum City, will host dynamic programs through partnerships with ILOMOCA and Musikahan sa Tagum Foundation, Inc., respectively.
In Metro Manila, the festival will take over multiple iconic locations, including Circuit Makati, The Metropolitan Theater, Intramuros, Aliw Theater, and various museums and galleries. These venues will showcase an eclectic mix of performances, workshops, and exhibits that highlight Filipino creativity and innovation.
Festival Highlights and New Additions
Beloved components like Palihan, Palabas, Paseo Museo, Palitan, Pagtitipon, and Pamilihan return, featuring over 200 performances, workshops, and activities. From engaging in art workshops (Palihan) to enjoying performances by CCP resident companies and community-based artists (Palabas), the festival remains a cornerstone for art appreciation and collaboration.
The 2025 edition introduces an exciting new feature: Palaro, which showcases the innovative works of the CCP Game and Comics Development Grant awardees. Highlighting Philippine mythology, iconic heroes, landmarks, and adventure-driven storytelling, this component bridges art, technology, and gaming. Participants can experience live gameplay, join tournaments, and interact with developers, bringing a fresh, interactive dimension to the festival.
A Platform for Filipino Creativity and Innovation
“The CCP Pasinaya has always been a celebration of the Philippines’ rich and diverse cultural heritage,” says CCP President Kaye C. Tinga. “This year, we’re expanding its reach to ensure inclusivity and accessibility, introducing innovative components like Palaro to make Pasinaya 2025 a truly vibrant and grand showcase of Filipino artistry.”
CCP Vice President and Artistic Director Dennis N. Marasigan adds, “By featuring the innovative creations of the CCP Game Development grantees, Palaro highlights the immense potential of Filipino creators in the gaming industry, offering a fresh and dynamic experience for all.”
Inclusive Access for All
With its unique See-All-You-Can, Workshop-All-You-Can, Network-All-You-Can, Pay-What-You-Can model, CCP Pasinaya ensures accessibility for a diverse audience. In 2024, the festival drew over 45,000 attendees across six venues, featured 142 performing groups and artists, and partnered with 26 embassies and 17 museums. This year, organizers anticipate an even larger turnout, continuing to foster art appreciation and education nationwide.
Since its inception in 2005, the CCP Pasinaya has evolved from a marketing tool for the CCP’s annual programming into a platform for networking, collaboration, and celebration of the arts.
