Chevron, AmCham & Don Bosco Launch Mechanic Training Program

Caltex workshop customers can look forward to world-class service while contributing to the employment of underprivileged youth. Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), the marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, has partnered with Don Bosco – One TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc. (AmCham Foundation) to deliver this impactful initiative.

Through this collaboration, Don Bosco will provide Chevron with a pool of TESDA-certified graduates for potential employment at Caltex-branded workshops nationwide. Workshop owners gain access to skilled mechanics trained at Don Bosco Training Centers located in key areas, including Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Manila, Makati, Laguna, Alabang, Albay, Cebu, Iloilo, Eastern Samar, and Davao Oriental.

As part of the program, Don Bosco will also offer a 2-day Refresher Course and a 5-day Training Course tailored for mechanics already employed at Caltex workshops. These sessions, conducted at Don Bosco’s facilities, cover Motorcycle and Small Engine Servicing (MSES), Automotive Servicing, and Automotive NC I and NC II Engine Repair. The goal is to enhance the mechanics’ skills, ensuring top-notch customer service and satisfaction.

This initiative aligns with Caltex’s vision of expanding its network of branded workshops, giving motorists convenient access to genuine Caltex lubricants and premium mechanical services.

“This program supports our commitment to providing exceptional technical services. By employing skilled scholars and graduates, we enhance the value-added services offered at our workshops,” said Larry Tiglao, Chevron’s Indirect Channel Finished Lubricants Manager.

The partnership also builds on Chevron and AmCham Foundation’s long-standing collaboration in providing learning and livelihood opportunities to disadvantaged youth.
