A name long recognized by Filipinos, the Toyota Tamaraw is celebrated for its reliability and durability. Known for its versatile build, it has been a trusted companion for businesses and families alike. In response to the evolving needs of the Philippine market, TMP has reimagined the Tamaraw for today’s world, introducing the Next Generation Tamaraw — a modern multi-purpose vehicle designed for both people and goods transport, suitable for personal and business use. The new model is proudly manufactured locally at the Toyota Motor Philippines plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The Next Generation Tamaraw: A New Era of Mobility

The Next Generation Tamaraw embodies Toyota’s commitment to innovation, while staying grounded in its heritage. Built on Toyota’s global IMV platform, it maintains the same trusted qualities of the original Tamaraw that served Filipino roads in the 1990s and early 2000s. However, as the needs of businesses and individuals have evolved, so too has the Next Generation Tamaraw, making it a reliable solution for today’s dynamic market.

“We sat down and communicated with potential customers to ask what they look for in the Tamaraw. Hearing their comments and requests face-to-face regarding our vehicles inspired and reminded me and our team to make ever-better cars,” shared TMP President Masando Hashimoto during the grand launch of the Next Generation Tamaraw.

Versatility Meets Performance

The Next Generation Tamaraw is available in both diesel and gasoline variants, catering to a variety of passenger and cargo needs. The diesel models are powered by the robust and fuel-efficient 2.4L 2GD-FTV engine, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications. Meanwhile, the gasoline variants feature the reliable 2.0L 1TR-FE engine, designed for consistent and dependable performance.

With these options, the Tamaraw continues its legacy of versatility and adaptability, ensuring it meets the diverse demands of modern Filipino enterprises and families.

These models emphasize the Tamaraw’s adaptability and customizable design for various applications.

Retail sales for the Short Wheelbase (SWB) versions of the Utility Van, Dropside, and Aluminum Cargo variants will follow at a later date, further expanding options for businesses and individuals seeking dependable and versatile transportation solutions.

These conversions were developed in collaboration with Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines (TMSPH), demonstrating TMP’s commitment to meeting diverse mobility needs.

“The possibilities for this vehicle are truly endless,” said TMP President Masando Hashimoto. “These innovations, which will have a lasting impact on the lives of Filipinos, are the embodiment of our vision captured in our tagline, Abante, Posible.

TMP First Vice President for Vehicles Sales Operations Danny Cruz

TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations, Danny Cruz, emphasized the Tamaraw’s versatility during the marketing presentation. “As Chief Engineer Jira explained, the Next Generation Tamaraw adapts to the body style that best suits your needs. It can transform into anything we can imagine. We ensured a deep understanding of our customers by visiting small and medium business owners across the country to learn about their mobility challenges,” Cruz shared.

Purpose-Built In-House Conversions
The in-house conversions—Utility Van, Dropside, and Aluminum Cargo—are designed with features tailored for daily commercial and personal needs:
