The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD) is set to host the third and final installment of the 30th Defense and Sports Arms Show Manila Edition, happening on November 20-24 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
AFAD spokesperson Alaric “Aric” Topacio shared the excitement of participating members for the much-anticipated five-day event, which will feature a wide array of locally and internationally manufactured sporting firearms and shooting accessories. This year’s edition is particularly significant as the firearms industry prepares for the upcoming gun ban ahead of next year’s midterm national elections.
Senator JV Ejercito, a fellow firearms enthusiast, is slated to be the special guest at the opening ceremony on November 20.
While firearms dealers are permitted to continue operations during the gun ban, Topacio acknowledged that sales often decline during this period due to uncertainties surrounding the processing of required documents.
“This is why we are encouraging all gun enthusiasts, responsible owners, and competitive shooters to visit the show,” said Topacio. “Explore over 40 exhibitors showcasing more than 100 top-tier local and international brands, and seize the opportunity to find the best firearm products available in the market.”
Beyond sales, AFAD remains steadfast in its advocacy for responsible gun ownership. The event will feature a variety of activities and programs, including seminars on firearm safety, legal processes for firearm acquisition, and step-by-step guidance on obtaining government permits and documentation. A partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) will also bring a one-stop service area for the application and renewal of firearm licenses, ensuring convenience for attendees.
