The collaboration ensures 30 hearing aids for pediatric cancer survivors, and it underscores the foundation’s commitment to supporting children in their cancer journey through vital resources and future initiatives.
In a heartwarming display of compassion and commitment, the I Want To Share Foundation (IWTS) recently partnered with Manila Hearing to donate hearing aids to 30 pediatric cancer survivors. This generous initiative not only showcased the foundation’s dedication to improving the lives of children battling illness but also highlighted its mission to promote early childhood cancer detection and treatment.
IWTS Founder and Chairperson Sheila Romero addressed the gathering with heartfelt gratitude, expressing her excitement for the partnership. “Today marks a significant milestone for the I Want To Share Foundation as we continue our efforts to help children with cancer,” she said. “I want to personally thank Manila Hearing Aid for this partnership and for providing 30 hearing aids that will benefit 30 brave survivors. On behalf of the children and our foundation, we are deeply grateful.”
This collaboration underscores the shared vision of IWTS and Manila Hearing Aid to offer children the opportunity to reintegrate into society by reconnecting them with the world of sounds, communication, and possibility. With hearing aids costing between PHP 30,000 to PHP 80,000 each, the foundation is dedicated to ensuring that indigent cancer survivors receive these crucial devices as part of its ongoing survivorship and early detection initiatives.
Romero further emphasized the vital role of community support in these endeavors. “We are offering them hope and a fresh start,” she said. “The success of our 2023 charity gala cannot be overstated. Thanks to the generosity of those who supported us, the funds raised have not only made today’s event possible but also fueled the heart of our foundation’s work.”
Looking ahead, IWTS has exciting plans for the future. The foundation is set to present a Childhood Cancer Helpline during a meeting with Secretary Herbosa of the Department of Health. This helpline will provide essential guidance and resources to families navigating the challenges of pediatric cancer care.
Additionally, IWTS is funding training for barangay health workers to assist in early cancer detection and diagnosis, which is vital to improving the survival rate of young patients. In another milestone, the foundation is thrilled to announce the construction of a new bone marrow transplant wing, which is scheduled to begin in January 2025, further enhancing treatment facilities for children undergoing critical care.
In September 2025, IWTS will host its second charity gala during Cancer Awareness Month, following the success of the 2023 event that raised PHP 19 million. The proceeds from this upcoming gala will fund renovations for the PGH Halfway House, providing a safe and comfortable space for children awaiting surgery.
Together, the I Want To Share Foundation and its partners are making a powerful impact in the fight against childhood cancer, offering hope, healing, and a brighter future for those who need it the most.
