DoubleDragon Corporation’s subsidiary, Hotel101 Global, has reached a significant milestone with over 500,000 registered users on its Hotel101 Global App, marking strong growth in its digital platform. The company anticipates reaching 1 million registered users by the end of 2024.
“Our long-term vision is for the Hotel101 Global App (HBNB App) to surpass 1 million users in every country where Hotel101 is present. By next year, we aim to complete Hotel101-Madrid and begin growing our HBNB App user base to include a million users from Spain. This will be followed by Japan in 2026, then the United States, and eventually extending to the United Kingdom, UAE, India, China, and other major markets,” stated DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II.
The HBNB App is designed to enhance the guest experience with self check-in capabilities, allowing seamless booking, check-in, check-out, and payment—all managed through the app. “Our goal is to make the HBNB App the most user-friendly and efficient hotel app in the world. Hotel101 Global aims to offer a consistent, predictable one-room concept, ensuring a reliable guest experience anywhere in the world,” said Hotel101 Global CEO Hannah Yulo-Luccini.
The first three international Hotel101 projects are projected to contribute US$471 million (Php27.2 billion) in foreign currency revenue for DoubleDragon. The company also plans to bolster its financial foundation through an upcoming Hotel101 Global listing in the U.S.
DoubleDragon targets 1 million operational hotel rooms worldwide by 2050, with 50,000 planned for the Philippines, positioning Hotel101 as the largest hotel operator in the country and among the top five globally.
Hotel101’s innovative asset-light business model, featuring a uniform room type across its network averaging 500 rooms per location, enables DoubleDragon to generate revenue in two ways: first through preselling units, and second through recurring income from hotel operations post-construction.
The Hotel101 Global App’s dynamic pricing feature adjusts room rates based on real-time supply and demand, optimizing revenue generation.
By 2024, DoubleDragon’s total equity is expected to surpass Php100 billion, placing it among the select companies in the Philippines with a 12-digit equity level. With a diverse portfolio of prime investment properties across Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and international sites, DoubleDragon has established a solid foundation. The exportability of Hotel101’s unique business model is projected to become a significant contributor to the Philippines’ US dollar inflow in the future.
