At the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, the band thrilled fans with the news that their documentary will debut on Prime Video in 2025.
Simple Plan, the multi-platinum-selling pop-punk sensation, has announced an upcoming documentary capturing their remarkable journey as they approach their 25th anniversary. The yet-untitled documentary, produced by Sphere Media, was unveiled by lead singer Pierre Bouvier to thousands of fans during the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas. Set to premiere globally on Prime Video in 2025, the film will serve as the centerpiece of the band’s anniversary celebrations.
“This movie is one of the most ambitious and meaningful projects we’ve ever done,” shared the members of Simple Plan. “Celebrating 25 years felt like the perfect time to reflect and offer fans a close look into our journey, both on stage and behind the scenes. Director Didier Charette was given unprecedented access to our lives and archives, and after traveling with us for a year, he’s created something that truly captures who we are as a band and as individuals. We’re excited for fans to experience this film and connect with us in a whole new way.”
Prime Video Canada’s Head of Content, Shaun Alperin, echoed the excitement, saying, “Simple Plan is an iconic band that has stood the test of time, continually resonating with fans across generations. We’re thrilled to bring their story to audiences around the world on Prime Video.”
The documentary will cover Simple Plan’s early days in Montreal in the late ’90s, their rise to international fame with hits like “Welcome to My Life,” “Perfect,” and “The Antidote,” and their ongoing legacy as one of the world’s most enduring punk rock bands. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage, new interviews with the band, and appearances by punk rock icons like Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), Avril Lavigne, Dexter Holland & Noodles (The Offspring), and Fat Mike (NoFX), the film promises an intimate look into the life of a band that defined a generation. Produced by Sphere Media, the documentary’s executive producers include Bruno Dubé, Renaud Chassé, and Marie-Hélène Tremblay, alongside producer Samuel.
