Filipino foodies are in for a one-stop global gastronomy experience, with hundreds of restaurants and bars during Taste Around Town
The annual Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival returns from October 23 to 27, 2024, offering five days of culinary delights and entertainment. With over 300 booths, live performances, and a festive Halloween atmosphere set against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour, this year’s event promises an unforgettable experience. Here’s what you can look forward to:
A World of Wines and Spirits
Wine enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice with selections from over 30 countries and regions. Explore the newly introduced gin and whisky zones, and indulge in Cantonese-inspired cocktails from Kinsman or tea-infused creations from Tell Camellia. For a local touch, try Hong Kong’s very own N.I.P. gin.
A Culinary Wonderland
The festival boasts more than 100 food booths, featuring Michelin-starred dishes and Bib Gourmand-recommended bites. Culinary zones like “Culinary Stars” and “Hotel Delicious” will offer treats from renowned establishments such as the three-Michelin-starred Forum Restaurant and award-winning spots like Hong Kong Cuisine 1983, Ăn Chơi, and Fisholic.
Masterclasses with the Pros
For those eager to sharpen their culinary skills, the Tasting Theatre will host themed workshops led by star chefs and sommeliers. James Beard Award-winning chef Nancy Silverton will demonstrate how to reinvent the classic Caesar salad. Meanwhile, at the Harbour Lounge, guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails by top international mixologists while taking in stunning views of Victoria Harbour.
A Spooktacular Halloween Weekend
From October 26 to 27, the festival will transform into a Halloween wonderland, with visitors encouraged to don creative costumes to earn tokens. Halloween-themed performances and live music will further enhance the spooky, fun-filled atmosphere.
Citywide Taste Around Town
The culinary adventure doesn’t end with the festival. From October 28 to November 30, “Taste Around Town” will take over the city. During “Beef Up November,” foodies can explore more than 40 steakhouses and hotpot restaurants, while over 200 eateries will offer discounts as part of “Chill EAT.” In Lan Kwai Fong, the “Sip and Savour in LKF” promotion will feature special deals at 24 bars and restaurants, and more than 70 bars across the city will participate in the “Hong Kong Bar Show” with free or discounted drinks.
