O/C Records began with a team of 12, whom they dubbed the “dream weavers,” according to Chynna Ortaleza-Cipriano, VP of O/C Records. Now in their fourth year, with an ever-growing team and brilliant line of artists, dreams are undoubtedly spun for O/C Records.
“Kung babalikan ko lahat ng nangyari, ganun kabilis na yun, four years? Kahit sobrang dami nangyari at nakilalang artists, daming nagawa. Parang kung babalikan ko siya, ang bilis pa rin and we’re just so grateful,” shared Kean Cipriano.
My coming of age was highly incorporated with music, mainly from different local artists like Pappel and Unique. My average days usually conclude with me turning up the music on the bus trip home and listening to OZONE by Unique. I’ve witnessed how O/C Records began with its pioneer artists and excellent team. It was a dream come true to attend their 4th Year Anniversary at the Take Over Bar in Quezon City on June 15. Seeing how far they’ve come is a sign of optimism for the local music industry, which aspires to make Filipino music renowned for its distinct personality.
“We are blessed to be surrounded by these amazing artists, at this point we started from six artists, Unique was one of our pioneer artists. Marami po tayong O/C artists na makikilala sa future,” Chynna mentioned.
During the event, Adie, Unique, Pappel, Eugene Layug, Kenaniah, Chelsea Ronquillo, and Martin Riggs played their original songs. To begin the show, Kean Cipriano also performed some of his original compositions.
O/C Records introduces us to popular artist in today’s local music industry such as Arthur Nery and Rice Lucido.
On top of that, O/C Records proudly showcases emerging artists like Kenaniah and Sean Oquendo, who are poised to make their mark in the OPM business. The record company has also expanded to manage the careers of actors and directors like Gold Aceron and Kris Cazin.
O/C Records has established the foundations of a music label that nurtures artists’ creative freedom by presenting an unconventional style of delivering prolific stories that complement and enrich the vast spectrum of narratives that they has been delivering to people from all walks of life during its four-year run.
