Dahil kailangang manatili sa bahay ng mga Pilipino at magnilay-nilay tungkol sa mga mahahalagang leksyon sa buhay na madalas binabalewala bago mangyari ang krisis sa COVID-19, magandang panahon din ito para manood ng mga pelikula na kapupulutan ng mga aral.
Ngayong Abril, handog ng Cinema One ang apat na pelikula na may iba-ibang tema, pero pare-parehong layunin na maghatid ng napapanahong mga leksyon na dapat isabuhay ng mga manonood.
Sa “Confidential Assignment,” isang action-thriller na pinagbibidahan ng “Crash Landing on You” actor na si Hyun Bin, gagampanan niya ang isang North Korean investigator na mapipilitang makipagtrabaho kasama ang isa pang imbestigador mula South Korea (Yu Hae Jin) para mahuli ang isang tiwaling opisyal.
Tungkol naman sa “adulting” ng isang barkada ng mga millennial ang “Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love,” na nangako sa isa’t isa na magkikita sa parehong lugar taun-taon matapos ang college graduation nila.
Pare-pareho man na mahirap ang pinagdaraanan, ipinapakita ng mga karakter nina Jane Oineza, Jerome Ponce, Albie Casiño, Myrtle Sarrosa, at Tony Labrusca na kahit malupit, nakakalito at minsan nakakasira ng pagkatao ang “adulting,” gumagaaan naman ito dahil sa mga kaibigang dumadaan din sa parehong pagsubok.
Isa ring kwento ng millennial ang “I’m Ellenya L” kung saan bida si Maris Racal bilang isang millennial na may pangarap maging isang social media influencer, at madalas humihingi ng tulong sa kaibigan niyang si Peng (Inigo Pascual).
Pagkatapos mapanood ang “I’m Ellenya L,” mare-realize ng mga kabataan na may mas mahahalaga pang bagay kaysa sa dami ng likes, comments, at shares ng posts nila, at na pinakamagandang katangian pa rin ang pagiging totoo sa sarili.
Tungkol naman sa middle-aged couple na sina Dolores (Eula Valdes) at Crisanto (Ian Veneracion) ang animated musical dramedy na “Paglisan” (The Leaving), kung saan ipapakita ang pagsisikap ng mag-asawa na manatili sa tabi ng isa’t isa sa harap ng depresyon at Alzheimer’s disease.
Ang nakapupukaw na istorya ng pelikula, na nagwagi bilang Best Film, Best Sound, Best Music at Best Screenplay sa 2018 Cinema One Originals, ay patunay na ang tunay na pagmamahal, kahit humaharap sa sakit o pagkawala ng memorya, ay mananatili pa rin.
Panoorin ang mga pelikulang ito, 7pm sa Blockbuster Sundays ng Cinema One na sisimulan ng “Confidential Assignment” ngayong Linggo (April 5), at susundan ng “Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love” sa April 12, “I’m Ellenya L” sa April 19, at “Paglisan” sa April 26.
