BTS, BLACKPINK and rookie powerhouse NewJeans dominate the list of most-streamed K-Pop artists and songs
Spotify, the world’s leading audio streaming service, has launched its annual Wrapped campaign, revealing that over 574 million individuals worldwide tuned in this year.
As part of the celebration spotlighting top artists and tracks that shaped the global musical landscape in 2023, Spotify shines a light on K-Pop—a genre that transcends language and cultural barriers, resonating across the globe.
Here’s a breakdown of Spotify Wrapped’s Global Top K-Pop Artists and Songs for 2023:
BTS continues their reign as the Global Top K-Pop Artist of the Year, with five members securing spots among the top 20 most-streamed K-Pop Artists globally. Jung Kook claims #3, Jimin at #6, V at #11, Agust D (SUGA) at #16, and j-hope at #20.
Notable mentions in the list include BLACKPINK (#2), TWICE (#7), SEVENTEEN (#8), and NCT DREAM (#18), alongside rising 4th-gen powerhouses such as NewJeans (#4), Stray Kids (#5), TOMORROW X TOGETHER (#9), and LE SSERAFIM (#10).
In the Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year, BTS, BLACKPINK, and NewJeans dominate, collectively securing 17 out of the top 20 spots for the most streamed K-Pop tracks.
Jung Kook’s debut solo single, “Seven (feat. Latto),” clinches the Top K-Pop Song of the Year title, achieving a historic milestone by hitting one billion streams in a record-breaking 108 days, joining Spotify’s Billions Club. Other hits from Jung Kook and Jimin, along with V and BTS, also secure spots on the top 20 list.
LISA of BLACKPINK makes history as the first female K-Pop artist to enter Spotify’s Billions Club with her track “MONEY.” Notable songs by BLACKPINK and NewJeans also feature prominently among the top 20.
