Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. actively participated in the Happy Walk, an event organized by the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Inc. (DSAPI), in honor of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21. Themed “Natatanging Nilalang: 3, 2, 1, and Beyond,” the event aimed to celebrate achievements, promote inclusivity, and raise awareness for individuals with Down Syndrome.
With enthusiasm, Canon Marketing Philippines demonstrated their unwavering support as Canon executives, employees, along with their families and friends, joined the program and parade, infusing vibrant energy into the event from the SMX Convention Center to the SM Mall of Asia.
The event saw the participation of over four thousand individuals, including families and friends of those with Down syndrome, uniting to advocate for inclusivity and spread joy. Canon Marketing Philippines contributed by donating PIXMA printers as prizes, extending support to families and individuals associated with DSAPI.
Elmer Lapena, Chairman of DSAPI, expressed gratitude for the support from corporate partners like Canon Marketing Philippines, emphasizing the impact on promoting understanding and acceptance, thereby enabling children with Down syndrome and their families to lead more fulfilling lives.
Canon Marketing Philippines President and CEO, Anuj Aggarwal, highlighted the importance of recognizing abilities and promoting the well-being of people with Down syndrome. He stressed Canon’s belief in embracing diversity and celebrating individual talents and achievements. Aggarwal emphasized the need for society to support the rights and opportunities of individuals with Down syndrome, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate community.
Since its inception in 2003, the Happy Walk organized by DSAPI has served as a beacon of joy, awareness, and inclusivity, positively impacting individuals with Down syndrome and their families nationwide.
