Tamiya, the world re-known Japanese manufacturing company for plastic model kits, remote controlled cars and battery etc. is giving Filipino fans a treat and introduced The Brickyard by Lil’s Hobby Center an exclusive race track where they can race and modify their gears!
In its grand opening on June 3, the owner of the The Brickyard, home of Tamiya in the Philippines, Ferdie Kahn is very proud to say that the models are Pinoy made through the plant on Cebu, and this initiative is a way to give back to the warm acceptance of the locals to Tamiya.
The Brickyard and Tamiya has been excited to reintroduce the all time classic game for 50 years for kids to hobbyists alike here in the Philippines. This effort’s goal is to connect consumers and enjoy Tamiya products together, and also encourage people to try and check out their model, Mini 4WD.

Located at the 3rd floor of Glorietta 2 in Makati City, The Brickyard, which opened on June last year served as a venue to hangout on for customers was followed by another opening early this month at the Vertis North exhibiting the ever growing popularity demand through a year.
Founded by Yoshio Tamiya in Japan in 1946, Tamiya products continue to be a favorite among hobbyists not only in the Philippines but around the world.
Wait, that’s not all Tamiya Philippines has in store for fans within the country. They’re inviting everyone 2019 TAMIYA MINI 4WD ASIA CHALLENGE MANILA this June 20-23, 2019 at Glorietta 2, Makati City.
An estimate of 250-300 total competitors from 10 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, etc. are participating in this annual Tamiya competition. The winner will be heading to Japan on November to compete in the World Championships! This promises to be the Mini 4WD event of the year. Multiple races and events will also be available to the public to experience the thrill of this unique hobby.
“We are fortunate to be hosting this event for the first time in the Philippines and that is a testament to the popularity here in the Philippines. We will essentially bring Mini 4WD back to the mainstream and I really want to showcase the Filipino racers. This will give them a chance to shine in the world stage. “It will also be attended by Mr. Tamiya, himself! We invite everyone to come and experience the thrill of this competition.”
